Experience On Notable Cases

Ray has demonstrated his ability in the courtroom, having personally tried and convicted many serious felons, including killers, rapists, child molesters, and drug dealers. Many of these vicious criminals are now serving life sentences without parole. A few of his more notable cases include:

Commonwealth v. Lee Boyd Malvo.

Ray and Bob Horan tried the 17-year old Malvo for the infamous sniper killings that terrorized the entire country in 2002.  A life sentence was imposed by a jury.

Commonwealth v. Dinh Pham.

Ray and Bob Horan tried Pham for strangling a mother and her infant child to death during the course of a burglary. A life sentence was imposed by the Judge, although the prosecution urged the death penalty.

Commonwealth v. Sterling Fisher.

Ray tried Fisher for stabbing a mini-mart clerk to death in the Town of Vienna during a robbery. The jury recommended a life
sentence, which was imposed by the court.

Commonwealth v. Matthew Steele.

Ray prosecuted Steele, a member of a violent street gang, for the shotgun slaying of an innocent bystander during a gang attack. The jury sentenced Steele to life in prison.

Commonwealth v. Roland Iliff.

Ray tried Iliff for using a chat line to lure a teenage boy from C
alifornia to Fairfax County, where he sexually abused him. The jury sentenced Iliff to 60 years in prison.

Commonwealth v. Mir Amal Kasi.

Ray assisted Bob Horan in prosecuting this case involving the brutal slayings of two innocent citizens and the wounding of three others as they sat in their cars to turn into the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virg
inia. The jury recommended a death sentence, which was imposed.
